From: James J. Dempsey <jjd@bbn-unix.arpa> There is a DEC ad in the April 7 edition of Electronics for a "Micro/PDP-11". It includes a CPU, a 10Mb 5.25 Winchester, an 800 Kb floppy back-up and "auto-self diagnostics" for $9,200. Its front panel dimensions are 5.25" X 19". Does anyone know any more about this? Is this the "11/70 on a chip" we have heard so much about? How much memory can it support and how much is included for that price? --Jim-- jjd@bbn-unix -----

From: Steve Dyer <sdyer@bbn-unix.arpa> The "Micro PDP-11" is really the PDP-11/23+ (read, PRO 350) on a Q-bus. It is NOT the 11/70 on a chip. Frankly, though, I can't see buying any one of the DEC PDP-11 series micros unless one had a GREAT investment in PDP-11 DEC-OS-based software. As a UNIX machine it's completely passe. I was glad to leave the 64k limitations long ago. /Steve Dyer
