[net.micro] Tandy 100 vs Epson HX-20: Modular Jack vs Coupler

mash (04/16/83)

Although the Epson's small screen can be painful, its use of a regular
coupler is crucially important when you want to use it in a hotel room -
hotel rooms almost NEVER have modular phones.

Also when I travel having the printer and the tape unit in one
case sure helps with bulk. Actually I prefer the ability to
define a variable screen size that the epson has to the fixed
100 arrangement.

The Tandy 100 has an optional acoustic coupled modem available for hookup.
The Epson's acoustic coupler is optional also.
