Does anyone know of a way to force the HP48 to send strings by XMIT using the Translate code in the IOPAR variable. This translate code is used only during KERMIT transfers as far as I can tell and I need to send strings without KERMIT protocol since my Apple IIC and my 48SX can't seem to agree on settings. I've solved all my problems by sending files to my apple as non-kermit protocol strings using ASC-> and ->ASC to send programs to store on disk (at least I'll have someway to backup). My probelm comes in that the program ->ASC generates linefeed characters and I need them translatedin the transfer to CR LF sequences in order for the program on my apple to work. Translate code 1 (I think) on the HP48 does this but when using XMIT the 48 ignores the translate code. Incidentally if anyone has any ideas on why (even when both my Apple and my 48 are set to ascii mode) the Apple KERMIT A2 tries to receive it in binary I'd appreciate hearing about it. Anyone else trying to hook up to an Apple II with KERMIT????? =========================================================================== ___ Tim Strong <TDSTRONG@MTUS5.BITNET> |__) _ _| _ _ Michigan Technological University | | (_| (_| (_| | HOUGHTON, MI 49931 U.S.A. ===========================================================================
