I recently purchaced a portfolio and its accompanying serial card. Now it seems as though I need some extra software to send files over the serial card. The verdict that I have come to is that I need to find some one who has the software and a memory card that I can transfer it on. Is this true, or is there another way. ========================================================================= | |===============================| | John Buchanan (juancho) | buchanan@cs.ubc.ca | | |===============================| | Imager | (604) 228-2218 | | Department of Computer Science |===============================| | University of British Columbia | Standard disclaimer | | Vancouver, BC, Canada | included in this | | | box, right here. | =========================================================================

I am in the process of buying a Portfolio and have been particularly interested in serial file transfer, since I mainly use a UN*X system rather than a PC. I understand from a local dealer here in Edinburgh and also from DIP, the company who designed the Portfolio, that serial software will be available shortly. (Shortly is defined as "early October".) The software will include terminal emulation (VT52 & VT100) as well as file transfer utilities (such as XMODEM). I've been told it will be on a ROM card like the other ROM cards (Finance, Science and Utilities) currently available. The information is a bit sketchy at the moment, but I hope it's a help.
