[comp.sys.handhelds] Display offset in CHIP48 and BRIX with rev A rom

degen@bnlux0.bnl.gov (christopher degen) (09/14/90)

My HP-48, is a rev A rom, and I have the shifted graphics display
problem with CHIP48 and BRIX. I downloaded the ->ASC versions, and I got
the correct checksums. What's up???

Great program, BTW!

I have been informed that the HP48SX display RAM is not at a fixed
memory location (as CHIP48 currently assumes), but moves when
libraries are attached and perhaps also under other circumstances.
This would explain the display wrapping problem.

It seems most people who use libraries have rev D ROMs, perhaps
because of HP:s free equation card offer. This explains why
the problem has mostly affected people with the D ROM (the referred
article being the exception).

For now, try removing all libraries from the calculator. I intend to
post a fixed version of CHIP48 in a few days.
