[comp.sys.handhelds] Access to USENET: how do I do it?

This may sound naive, but how do I connect to USENET?  The only access I
have to this conference is through HP's calculator BBoard, which is
linked to it.  I'm not connected to any university.  Is private access
possible?  Anyone who know, please RSVP via a response to this article or
