[comp.sys.handhelds] EduCalc--a visit

jokim@jarthur.Claremont.EDU (John H. Kim) (10/04/90)

Well, I happened to be driving past Laguna Niguel today so I
dropped in at EduCalc and bought an HP-48SX. Just thought you
guys might want to know what this net-famous place looks like.

It's not big or spectacular. In fact, it's quite easy to miss.
It's located in one of those small warehouse-business type
buildings which you find in remote areas of suburban cities.
The browsing area is not much--about 12'x20' with a couple
display cases and lots of shelves for books. The back is
apparently where they keep their stock and answer phones.
The entire store could fit in a singles tennis court with
lots of room to spare.

In short, nothing to indicate it is a major distribution
center for HP calculators. But I suppose most mail-order
firms are like this. If you happen to be driving between
Los Angeles and San Diego, the store is only about a mile
off the freeway.

The owners are nice and (almost overly) helpful. I'd say
more but I was in a hurry and couldn't stay long.

Oh yeah.
Could someone mail me the command to show the ROM revision
of my 48? And I've got a 28S for sale--make me an offer.
