I've heard only glimmers of this and suppose it is too early to hear much more, but... or has someone seen anything? According to our local (Twin Cities, but I suspect some other towns get these exact stories) monthly computer newspaper and another item somewhere, Bill Atkinson of HyperCard and MacPaint fame has left Apple to form the company General Magic. The handheld device is for "transmitting images, text, and graphics to host computers or other devices via telephone wires or airwaves (!) ...aimed at the home market..." well? ooooooooooooootter#spoon in bowl !!!!!!!!!!!!& RooM & !!!!!!!!!!!!R oooo M

I'm not real positive on this, but I believe General Magic is a spin-off of Apple. Supposedly they're going to invent all sorts of spiffy new technologies that they will market in seperate products and share with Apple for their stuff, as well. Michael V ISU
