[comp.sys.handhelds] DuPont connectors

akcs.kolstad@hpcvbbs.UUCP (Joel Kolstad) (10/23/90)

To whoever talked about DuPont connectors -- (this board
doesn't have that message in yet... so I can't reply to it!)

Don't start with Newark. Start with DuPont. Give them a call, and ask
them who their local distributor is for your area.

I'd also like to point out that Fujitsu sells 2mm spaced connectors,
too. Their nearest distributor to me here in Wisconsin is
Marshall Electronics, in Milwaukee.

                                              ---Joel Kolstad

P.S. -- I know Newark's lastest catalog has the DuPont ad on the last
page.
But see if there's someone closer to you selling DuPont stuff -- it's
often quite hard to convince places like Newark that they ought to
be carrying a distributor's part that they don't have in stock!

I did ask DuPont. They said Newark.

Do you have part numbers for the Fujitsu connectors?

Hmm... in that case, you're fighting an uphill battle. I've played
that game before... you go between trying to convince Newark they're
a full Dupont distributor and therefore ought to sell that
connector, to going to DuPont and trying to find a nice enough
representative who will tell Newark they sell what they sell.
Good luck.

I'll post the Fujitsu part #'s tomorrow.
