Recently I asked a friend of mine that makes his living off designing/building plastic models and prototypes if he could make a connector for my HP48SX cheaply that would look as good as a store bought connector. He assured me that it would be no problem if I wanted more than just one or two. What it comes down to is he'll have to make a couple molds at 10-20 bucks apiece and then the cable and the serial connector/hood. If enough people out there want connectors though, the price could obviously be very cheap. And having seen his work, I know that he is capable of making something of very high quality. If anyone is interested in buying such a cable, please email me. I will ask my friend how much it will cost per cable and get back to you. The more people that do this, the better. I would like it if enough people responded so as to make the cost about 3-5 dollars. That's a heck of alot better than $35, and the cable I am using now just doesn't cut it. --- Robert Pomeroy at Digital thru Dec. 1990: Pomeroy@refine.enet.dec.com (long version): uunet!decpa.pa.dec.com!decwrl.enet!
