[comp.sys.handhelds] Download question

eddie@wpi.WPI.EDU (Edward John Barron) (11/20/90)

Hi, I'm new to the comp.sys.handhelds newsgroup, and also a relatively new
hp48sx owner. I don't have a way to download programs on the net to my hp
using kermit. Is it possible to just type these programs in somehow?

Thanks,
-Ed.

I'm not sure why you are asking. I suppose there is something preventing you
from going ahead and typing them in? Could you explain to us what it is?

If it is the strange character sequences, like "\<<", then check page 626 of
your owner's manual. You will find a table showing you what to type in for such
sequences. If you see objects that need ASC-> to convert them, you'll need to
get a copy of ASC->. Send me mail if you need a copy. Sometimes programs are
posted uuencoded, although I haven't seen any recently. For those, you would
need a uudecoder. However, they are likely to be binary, which means you will
not be able to type them in.
