[comp.sys.handhelds] Rev A replacement..

d88pt@efd.lth.se (Peter Tomaszewski) (12/04/90)

Hi,

Could someone send me the address of HP in Germany ? I bought my
calculator there but since I live in Sweden I phoned the Swedish HP-office
to get on the updating list for rev.A. They told me that they have to
proove that I bought the calculator in Sweden to get me a replacement! So,
I have to contact Hp in Germany. Why does it have to be so complicated ?
I thought HP had "worldwide service" ? Can someone give me an answer ????

In Finland they do not care where you got your calculator. I guess they
want to help only Finnish customers, but at least you can call your HP
again and complain loudly enough. (Telling a Swede that a Finn does
something better should get things moving...:-)

You could try the US address and number that was posted a few months ago.
You could also sell your version A calculator and buy a new version E at
the same cost from Educalc or ElekTek. (That's what I did. I didn't want
to wait until January.)

Good luck.

Lots of people are stuck with the A's. It's nice of them to be replacing
the defective calculators we have, but other than that, their customer
service sucks unless you get a bit angry with them, at which point they
bend over backwards. The number/address you need should be on the inside
back cover of your book. If you have the german books. If you have US books,
you'll have the us adress, and you could probably use that too. (Call tech
support about it, customer service has no clue.)
