[comp.sys.handhelds] Transfers Portfolio <--> Atari ST

silvert@cs.dal.ca (Bill Silvert) (12/02/90)

Has anyone figured out how to transfer files between a Portfolio and an
Atari ST with the parallel interface? I've tried running FT.COM from
PCditto 1, but cannot establish a connection.

Seems weird that I can transfer to an IBM machine, but not an Atari
machine!

repg{ Have you tried Zmodem on both sides ie. Zmodem on portfolio
and Zmodem on ST (no emulator). Bu to do that you have to
transfer Zmodem to portfolio so you will need a disk drive for
it or you could try plain Xmodem - just DON'T use emulator - use
standard ST comms programs like FLASH or UNITERM.

No I haven't. My question was how to use the built-in parallel port
transfer software, which one can use with MS-DOS with the FT.COM
program. To use *modem I would have to buy a serial interface and give
up some memory to storing the transfer program.
