For some reason, when in Matrix entry mode, my rev.D hp48sx is NOT advancing to the next cell after entering a number. Also, I can't enter more than 1 number at a time. If I try (into a (- x 2) matrix) 1 <spc> 2 <enter> I get 1 0, which is quickly overwriten with 2 0. Anyone have any idea whats going on? Thanks. ------- +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ eric schweitzer In theory, there is no difference ershc@cunyvm.cuny.edu between theory and practice, @cunyvm.bitnet But in practice there is. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Check the Owner's Manual on page 351, in the MatrixWriter section. There are two menu keys in the MatrixWriter that say "GO" with an arrow after them; they control where the cursor goes after entering a number. -- edp

Make sure that either GO\-> or GO(down) is active (box in menu label) The reason that 1 <spc> 2 <ENTER> puts 1 and then 2 into the same place is that the 48 interprets 1 <sps> 2 <ENTER> as 1 <ENTER> 2 <ENTER>. If neither GO is active, you don't change cells after the 1 <ENTER> so the 2 <ENTER> will overwrite the current cell.
