I bought my HP-48sx on 12 September 1990. It is now 18 November 1990. That is OVER TWO Months. Where is my Equation card? I heard that some two hundred people got dropped from the list of those who bought a '48. Can anyone confirm this, or give me some sort of idea as to what I should do to claim my equ. card? -- Daniel C. L'Hommedieu III Internet: eagle@catt.ncsu.edu Prodigy ID: BCCJ33D dclhomm@eos.ncsu.edu

I got my 2nd HP48 (My first was stolen) on Sept 21 and sent in my thing for
the equation card within 10 days. I still haven't received it. (As of
yesterday's mail.) From what I hear I'm not the only one. I was going
to call 800 info and get HP's number tomorrow and ask the people at the HP
800 number. But if anybody knows a better procedure....
Thanks a lot.

It is true that there have been people dropped from their list. I was one
of those lucky people. I bought my 48 on Sept. 3 and still have not
received my card. I called HP on Nov. 16 and talked to Sandra Thomas at
503-222-3909 and asked why. I was told that I was not in their system
that maybe I hadn't sent the information in. (Right!!) They are blaming
the mail system and won`t take any responsibility for the mess-up. They
will "consider" sending you a card if you send them another copy of your
receipt and the serial number from your HP in a letter explaining your
circumstances. Send the Letter to:

sorry, insert "Direct Mail Projects" after the attn. line.
I wish you luck in getting your card , please wish me luck also.khbsnsr@nmt.edu (Kenneth Brunell) (11/19/90)

I sent in my eq card paperwork around September 20th and got my card last week. You should receive yours ANY day. They did say 6 to 8 weeks on the slip, so patience will be GREATLY rewarded. I just got mine on Friday. Unfortunately, they screwed-up somewhere and the address label had "Y" for my state, instead of "MD". Fortunately, the zipcode was correct. Maybe others are having the same problem? Wayne -- Wayne Folta (folta@cs.umd.edu 128.8.128.8)

2448217.118 Jul Oh by the way, just before my card arrived I broke down and called HP. They said that due to overwhelming response they were taking 8 to 12 weeks to get the cards out rather than the advertised 4 to 6 weeks. 2448217.118 Jul -Abulsme (Sam M.)

I mailed my coupon in mid-October, and received my Equation Library last Friday.. for a total of a little over four weeks wait. I'm impressed. :-)

I got my calculator Sept. 20 and sent in the slip for the equation card
within a week. The Equation Card came on November 19. Just a bit over
the 4 to 6 weeks they were saying. The HP people did say when I called
to ask why it was late that due to overwhelming response to the offer
they were running 8 to 12 weeks instead.

I am trying to contact "Jon C. Slenk" <js9b+@andrew.cmu.edu>, who
was going to sell me his equation card. His last message to me
was Dec. 15.
My apologies to the net for posting this here.
