Hello everyone out there !! I have some questions about the CASIO FX-790P pocket computer !!!! A few days ago I bought this calculator (8KB RAM) which is programmable in BASIC and ASSEMBLER. It it a very nice and handy calculator, but there are some points about the ASSEMBLER language where I need some insider knowledge. 1.) Although the FX-790P has 8kB and can be expanded to 16kB it seems that one can use only 4kB for the ASSEMBLER program. Is there any way around that ? 2.) Is there a way to call an ASSEMBLER program from within a basic program ? (Perhaps even passing parameters) 3.) There is an ASSEMBLER command 'READ' which reads input from the keyboard. Unfortunately it is equivalent to the BASIC 'INPUT' command, that means the program stops and waits for input. Is there a way to read input in an 'INKEY$' like fashion, that means the program tests if a key was pressed without stopping the program ? 4.) Is it correct that this ASSEMBLER language is not the genuine ASSEMBLER language of the FX-790P, but a kind of 'model ASSEMBLER language' which is actually interpreted ? If yes, is there a way to use the genuine ASSEMBLER language ? If you have any ideas or comments to my problems please contact me by sending mail to me directly, because I am not yet connected to NEWSFEED. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Axel Kowald, Laboratory of Mathematical Biology, N.I.M.R., The Ridgeway, Mill Hill, LONDON NW7 1AA, U.K. Tel: (+44) 081-959 3666 ext 2396 JANET: a_kowald@uk.ac.mrc.nimr INTERNET: a_kowald%nimr.mrc.ac.uk@nsfnet-relay.ac.uk EARN/BITNET: a_kowald%nimr.mrc.ac.uk@{cunyvm.cuny.edu|ukacrl} USENET: ...{uunet|mcsun}!ukc!nimr!a_kowald ____________________________________________________________________________
