I was wondering if anyone had tried to build the interface cable for the HP48sx to a PC? If so, is the cost of building one significantly less than the retail value ( $35 ) ? Also could you mail me the specs to building one. Thanks.

It can be dirt cheap, with one major hangup ofcourse.......You have to be able to find the parts somewhere. After long searches and hundreds of phone calls you may track down one or two connectors, then, if you can't solder very well you'll screw them up and have to start over from the beginning. But yes, you can make it from scratch.
