So many people in c.s.h. have been soooo upset lately about the bugs in the different rom versions of the HP48sx. And so many are encouraging those of us with Version D's and good warranties to upgrade. However, before I rush my calculator to HP for the latest and greatest version I have a question. Does anyone (from HP or not) have a list of the bugs in my calculator that I could view? In one recent article, it was stated that inverting greater than 8x8 matrices was a problem on some version, along with doing archives with flag 40 not cleared. But a complete list of the bugs for the different versions along with the work-arounds would enable many of us to make an intellegent descion on whether we need to upgrade. This plee is directly primarily at the people from HP that monitor this group. (This next statement is not a threat, just the honest truth.) If I can't find out what is wrong with my calculator, I am pretty much forced to get the upgrade for fear that something major that I may use may be wrong with my machine. However, from the sounds of it, I could probably pass on the upgrade and never be hurt; if I only knew for sure. This is actually preferable since I don't really want to pay to have the calculator shipped around, and I use it extensively everyday at work. Even if it were only gone for 1 or 2 weeks, it would hurt a great deal. Any reply thru this group or e-mail is welcome. Don Wiseman (dwiseman@groucho.mrc.uidaho.edu)
