I should have specified the starring regulars in my question dealing with multiple characters by one actor. I did not think of all the civilians or non-M*A*S*H people when I asked the question. Also , I have since realized that Ugly John (a.k.a. the MP Muldoon) is an Austrailian. My apologies for the mistake but even Winchester made that error. So I rephrase my second question: What starring regular character has been played by two actors? (Hopefully I will now get the answer I was looking for.) B. Backus

Didn't Hawkeye also salute at the end of his moving eulogy to Capt. Tuttle? (How 'bout it erewhon?) The theme song is "Suicide is Painless" During one episode, where Hotlips get drunk, she says to Col. Blake, "You look like my father just before he died." !!?! (Margaret's father was on a later episode. Bad continuity, folks.) During the recent brush/forest fires in California, the outdoor set for M*A*S*H was destroyed. Most of the scenes (including the ones in the compound) are shot on a sound stage, however.

Father Mulcahey (sp?) was played by someone other than the present actor (William Christopher) in the first episode. In that one only, the priest was a man called "Red" in reference to his hair. After that episode, which was the pilot obviously, the priest was WC.
