[comp.sys.handhelds] HP 48 / LaserJet SoftFont

akcs.joehorn@hpcvbbs.UUCP (Joseph K. Horn) (03/07/91)

To all users of the HP 48SX and any HP LaserJet (except for the original
version that didn't support downloadable softfonts):

I posted a public-domain softfont in HP's bulletin board. It is a
10-point, 12-pitch font which is exactly the same as the HP 48's large
(size 3) LCD font. It's perfect for use in writing HP 48 documentation.

It contains the character definitions for characters 31 (ellipsis)
through 255. The undefined characters 0 thru 30 (they display as a blob
in the 48 screen) are not defined in the softfont.

Since it's 12 pitch, you can set the PRTPAR's width parameter to 95; it
makes VERY nice program listings, especially with translate code 0.

My limited hardware precludes posting it here. If you can get it from
hpcvbbs, and post it here, that would be way rad, dude.

Whoops -- forgot to mention: the HP 48 / LaserJet SoftFont file on
hpcvbbs can be found in the user.programs conference, message #242.
