I don't think rabid stuff is going to replace way off the deep end. And if it gets to overwhelm alt.driv.bonz then it will be time for you to split that off to alt.driv.rabid. Way off the deep end has enough posting to have it's *own* newsgroup by itself. I don't think the group needs to be called alt.driv.bonz.whacked because there are not that many whacked postings lately and they can be posted to alt.driv.bonz.way_off_the_deep_end and/or alt.driv.bonz. If some other twisted variant comes along and invades alt.driv.bonz then it can go through this process and get its own newsgroup as the deep end has. If it is a successor to way off the deep end then the group could be renamed or a new one created to accommodate the twist, but no doubt it will take over the way off the deep end newsgroup until that happens.
