[comp.sys.handhelds] Third-party high-density HP48 RAMs Coming

Jake-S@cup.portal.com (Jake G Schwartz) (03/20/91)

Just wanted to pass this on - A fairly reliable source says that soon
(by Spring??) we shall see a third-party U.S. company offering 256K and
512K RAM cards for the HP48. Bank-switching software will be supplied along
with the cards in library form and will be less than a half Kbyte long.
Prices look good....being less than 250 for 256K and less than 400 for
512K. Just thought I'd pass that on in case anyone was thinking about
large amounts of storage for their machines.

We sure have come a long way from the HP-65 when you need bank switching
because you've used up the 512K memory space of the processor.

I hope HP has a better calculator processor in the works (other than the
8088).
