Hi! I finally got the cable working...it was the pin layout to the 48sx that was wrong. Works perfectly, and I am happy. No 6-7 weeks of waiting for an HP cable, and it didn't cost me a cent. Definitly not the ridiculus $50.55 they were asking for it, and the even more ridiculus $100 they are asking for their serial interface kit. The first thing I did was to download falco's tetris2.1. Then I found out I needed ASC for it. Then I found out I needed tetris2. The kermit programs didn't like tetris2. Then I removed the carriage returns in the grobs in tetris2, and the the "---that's all---" at the end of the file, and tetris2 downloaded nicely. I ported tetris2.1 fixes over, and made the replacements in the tetris directory and pushed setup, and, and, and.... AMAZINGLY, after everything I had read, I was playing tetris on my 48sx. I am IMPRESSED! -------- I'd just like to say thanks, to everyone who made it all possible. To the people who posted about making their own mac to 48sx cable, letting the world know it could be done pretty easily. To the person who posted about the hp48sx anonymous ftp sites. I couldn't have done the cable without the pin layout in HP I/O document I found on one of the sites. To jcohen, his post on how he got his smith corona ram cards at the typewriter repair store for $32. (part number S75531). I probably wouldn't have enough affordable memory to play tetris, and have ASC, along with my other programs, without his post. To falco, Andrey Dolgachev, Erik Bryntse, and Joe Ervin for making the current Tetris version. I couldn't be playing it if it weren't for them. And, to HP, for making such a great calculator. I feel like I'm at the academy awards, or something. To everyone, thanks. -Dave.
