From: Gene Hastings <HASTINGS@cmu-cs-c> Check any of several (probably a dozen by now) makes of component TV tuners (Sony Panasonic, NEC, etc...) or see about playing with the tuner in a videocassette recorder or from a portable. Videotek sells a rack mount tuner that looks like it came out of a Sony TV (and probably did), and Sony used to make a thing called a "Tuner Timer" (TT-300, <$400) that was intended for use with recorders that had no integral tuner- a table top unit styled to match Sony's line of "industrial" Betamax recorders (Beta I). Check with any local video dealer (both the kind in malls, and the kind that sells closed circuit stuff to local schools). If there aren't any, pick up a copy of Video from the newsstand and cruise the ads, ask for literature. Gene Hastings <HASTINGS@CMU-CS-C> <HASTINGS@CMU-RI-LEG> ...!research!cmu-vlsi!hastings -------
