Does the 95LX use the same type of RAM cards as the 48sx.  If so that makes life a hell of a lot cheaper for us poor students!

Nope.  The HP 95LX uses JEIDA/PCMCIA standard cards, which are different
from teh HP48sx cards as far as I know.  In the long run they should be
cheaper, if that's any consolation.
