When has Hawkeye ever saluted? More times than you might think. The most memorable of course, is the salute to a departing Radar O'Reilly. Hawkeye also salutes Father Mulcahy when he is promoted to captain. These are the only two respectful salutes that I can think of. And I can't remember all the times he has given sarcastic or disgusted salutes to various visiting officers , not to mention Burns and Houlihan (weren't they the perfect couple?). Here's a couple more questions. 1) What character has been played by two different actors? (Not including the original movie version) 2) What actor has played two characters? (This should be easy.) 3) What was the name of the English guy with the big mustache that was around when Trapper John and Spearchucker were around? (I haven't the foggiest but I am curious.) B. Of course Harry Morgan played two characters: Gen. Steele and Col. Potter. But several people have been guests on two or more occasions, playing different rolls. One is Robert Ito (Sam of Quincy fame). The on who was on the most that I recall is Mako. He's played civilians, N and S Koreans, and Chinese. I know there are several more, but I cant think of any right now. As for two people in the same roll: nurses Abel and As for two people in the same roll: nurses Abel and Baker were played by many people. (Sorry about spelling error. It was unintentional, but with Hawkeye around, it is probably accurate.)

The name of the character with the mustache during first season was 'Ugly John'. He played off and on during that season. By the way, he also played a different character later on in the series. In the episode where Father Mulcahey finally gets promoted, he plays an MP who tries to close down Rosie's bar because Rosie wasn't there to give him his free drinks (which was a bribe), and Winchester refused to let him get off without paying. Actually, I rather liked the character of Ugly John; I was sorry to see him go the way of Nurse Dish and Spearchucker (who I was also sorry to see depart). Does anyone remember what is different about the opening of the first episode of MASH? Doug Burton inuxc!burton
