Following are the results of the little survey regarding the location of the 48's Reset hole (when the 48 is lying on its face) vs. the country of manufacture: Corvallis - Right: 6 Corvallis - Left: 13 Singapore - Right: 2 Singapore - Left: 0 Wlodek M-J reports that all 48's manufactured in Singapore should have the Reset hole on the right, and there are no reported cases to disprove that here. Several of you who responded were interested in what date the US machines switched from Left to Right......I intentionally didn't ask for the dates from the serial numbers because I don't have time to go through all of them. But that leaves a good idea for a poll for somebody else to run! Thanks to all those who replied! We can all rest a bit easier now. Stephen Thomas sjthomas@cup.portal.com

Regarding the placement of the Reset hole on the 48, I believe the answer to the wuestion was posted a little while ago. When the production of the 48 began in Singapore, the mold was changed, with the reset hole put on the right. At the same time, the mold was changed for Corvaillis also. So, as a result, all the new 48's, regardless of where they are manufactured now have Reset holes on the right side. ---Falco
