watapl@watmath.waterloo.edu ( ) (07/01/91)

I am posting this on behalf of a friend who wants the whole world to know:
===============================================================================
This message is for all of the Atari Portfolio users out there...

Good news, there is now a program and special cable out for transferring
files from your ST to your Portfolio, and it uses the Parallel port.

I am at present trying to get the file to Atari.archive.umich.edu, but
due to difficulties at that site, (the New folder is unreadable...) it
may be some time.

Some of the other Portfolio files that I have are:

PRTCRD.ARC ..... this file allows you to convert your ADR files into
Windows 3.0 Cardfile CRD files (import/export) ...it
requires the Visual Basic runtime DLL (I have it as well)

ACDPW2.ARC ..... now you can password protect your data files ....

DRYSK.ARC ..... you can now convert your Diary files to sidekick ....

PORTHELP.ARC .... Portfolio Help Files.....(A must for any Port beginner)...

CBASE.ARC ..... Create scripts to collect data in the field ....

LISTFG.COM .... Lists fragmented files on your Portfolio ....

WPCAL.ARC .... Convert Word Perfect Cal to DRY files ....

These any many more files are available on Atari Canada's BBS for download.

They are online 24 hours per day, reachable through Datapac.

to connect through Datapac call your local Datapac dial port....

press ... <return> (thats three dots followed by a return)
prof 3 <return>
44600498 <return>
x <return>

Then wait 3-4 secs and press return slowly, if you don't get anything, the
BBS is busy, try later on.

When the BBS announces itself, you can enter the name of :John Doe <ret>

followed by the password:pass <ret>

Leave a message to the system operator asking for access, tell him that
Mr. Portfolio told you about the system.

Thats all for now .....

Mr. Portfolio
