I recently got XLISP 2.0 for the Amiga. Someone recommended it as a reliable and complete LISP. However, I am starting a very large program and am very concerned about efficiency as well. The only other Amiga LISP that I have heard of is AmigaLISP. Would someone who has had experiences with any of the other LISPs on the Amiga or with very large programs please share their experiences? Thank you! - John Baker

I would also be *very* interested in any lisps/schemes for the Amiga, especially good commercial implementations of Common Lisp or Scheme. The only commercial lisp I have heard of was an old Lisp (I forget who produced it) that was supposed to be horrible. Please post (or email to the other poster and myself) any information you have. I have done a trivial port of XScheme (0.16; Manx) to the Amiga and hacked in some simple graphics primitives (puts up a scrollable superbitmap window; draws lines, circles, etc). If you send me a disk, I will be happy to send it to you. New `primitives' are easy to add. Who else has done a port? There must be someone! -Ken Dickey kend@mrloog.WR.TEK.COM PS: I don't know of a commercial implementation for the Amiga. You might contact LightShip (formerly Semantic MicroSystems) about doing a port of MacScheme if you need native code generation. Their number is (503) 643-6909.
