[comp.lang.forth.mac] Yerk

caw@munnari.oz.au (Chris Wright) (03/30/91)

First, I'd like to thank R.L. for the effort to get
NEON/YERK into the public domain, and for updating it..

Has anyone else had problems with the update of the YERK window.
Lines of text run over each other on occasions, and when the
window is zoomed, it doesn't always refresh to vertical scroll bar
properly. I've also seen strange characters in the title bar (some
distance from the title i.e., XORed with the lines marking it as the
active window)

In answer to chris wright's problems with yerk:

The yerk window, fwind, isn't going to refresh with TEdit, or with
a bit map. THings will scroll off the top and that is the end of
them. I have never found a need to implement a real editing window,
since a desk accessory editor (Neon came bundled with MockWrite)
works fine for cutting and pasting in development.

The grow box (and vertical scroll box above it) are not properly
erased when the window is enlarged, this is true. While this
is a cosmetic problem, I have fixed it in version 3.3.1. Also
"fixed" is the non erasing cursor on backspace (I usually have
the cursor turned off with -curs).

As far as the mysterious characters showing up in the title bar
of the window, I personally have never seen it. Could you, chris,
send me e-mail describing the problem, what you were doing
when the characters show up, etc. I have no answer for that one.
