There have been two recent conferences with CA related talks. The first was the Computational Physics Conference held at Boston University, June 5-9 1989. According to the promotional info, there was a session dedicated to cellular automata which included (among others) talks by Bennett, Doolen, McNamara, and Margolus. I've tried sending both US and electronic mail to the conference chairman requesting the titles of the talks but I never received a response. The second was the Massive Parallelism: Hardware, Programming and Applications conference held in Naples Italy October 9-13 1989. One of the talks was "Programmable matter: Concepts and Realization" by Toffoli. Does anyone know more about the CA related talks at these conferences?
