[net.trivia] Who recorded "The Rapper"?

In the late 60's or early 70's, a song called "The Rapper"
was popular.  ("Rap, rap, rap, rap, rap . . . they call him the
rapper").  WHO DID IT?????  I have an excellent source for answers
to such trivia questions.  He gave me an answer, but nobody believes
it.  Surely, someone else can corroborate my answer.

The song "The Rapper" was recorded by (the) Jaggertz.
Don't ask if I know the names of anyone in the group, but I
am sure this was the name!
