My Apple II+ is too old for the Enhancer II; I have the original Videx Keyboard and Display Enhancer along with the Videoterm 80-column board. The Enhancer/Videoterm combination was excellent except for one thing: I did not like the typewriter-style shift lock feature. I would often hit the CTRL key inadvertently and then I'd type a lot of upper case characters without realizing it. I phoned Videx to ask if there was a way to disable this "feature" and they were surprised that I didn't like it, but they said they thought there was a way. Sure enough, they called back with the information. The shift-lock function was easily disabled. From my point of view, this makes the Enhancer even better. Videx gets my vote as an outstanding company, both for excellent products and pleasant, effective after-sale support. No Apple II should be with- out the Videoterm and some version of the Keyboard Enhancer. Jim Pittman UNM Computing Center Albuquerque, N.M. 87131 ucbvax!lbl-csam!lanl-a!unm-ivax!casa 505-277-2764
