I've got an old QMS Kiss laser printer. It accepts downloadable fonts (not too many, space is limited). I've purchased one set of fonts from the company, and they work fine. I've also got documentation on the font file format, and this lead me to wonder about the possibility of converting various public-domain font sources into this format (for example, I believe the Computer Modern fonts could legally be used this way). So, two questions -- does somebody already have this program working? Do you already have a good collection of fonts you could distribute? And, second, and more generally, can anybody point me to some good collections of public domain bitmap fonts for square-pixel systems at 300dpi, along with descriptions of the font file format they're currently in? I'm not looking for exotics particularly, more good solid basics, in sizes from 8point to maybe around 24 point. -- David Dyer-Bennet, ddb@terrabit.fidonet.org or ddb@network.com or Fidonet 1:282/341.0, (612) 721-8967 9600hst/2400/1200/300 or terrabit!ddb@Lynx.MN.Org, ...{amdahl,hpda}!bungia!viper!terrabit!ddb
