A support group here is getting a fast printer to replace their IBM 6670. They are used to the printer queue manipulating functions of CMS, which BSD UNIX doesn't have. If these were available in BSD UNIX then our choice of printers would be greatly increased. Does anyone know of any commercial or public domain software which can do the following queue manipulations: 1. smallest print jobs printed first 2. users can move jobs to the top of the queue 3. operator can cancel print jobs 4. very large print jobs can be scheduled at night 2 and 3 are already done via regular printer software (possibly with some unusual permission settings) but 1 and 4 could take some work. One command (like lpc) which has all these functions would be convenient. So far, the only software I've seen which sounds hopeful is UQUEUE by UNITEC Software, Inc. Does anyone have any experience with this, or know of any other software I could look into? We would prefer software which is compatible with 4.3BSD lpr, but would also consider systems which run in place of lpr. Thanks very much in advance, Fran Rizzardi
