I posted a request a little while ago to the net asking for assistance in printing .dvi (TeX output) files on a HP DeskJet+ printer. I recieve alot of replies mainly telling me to use either the Laserjet or Laserjet+ entries. The Laserjet+ bitmap just hangs the DeskJet, but the Laserjet bitmap does produce character (sort-of) output. It seems to produce atleast 18-24 pt. characters from what should be 11 pt. source. (The file prints correctly when sent through dvi2ps to a LaserWritter). The text is also positioned on the page much lower and further right than it should be. The character spacing (Horiz.) still seems to be for 11 pt. so the characters overlap in a big way. What should I do to correct this problem, any suggestions? Someone did send me some info on a dvi2dj filter for the MS-DOS. I got the executables from the ftp site he told me to get them from, but soon lost them in a little head crash here at St.O before backup was done. What I need are the sources for that program (either for UNIX or MS-DOS) as I will need to run it on 4.3 BSD here at school. At this point I am not sure if I will have ram to download fonts to on the DJ. The dvi2dj said it required memory to download fonts to. The dvi2jet program just created the bitmap as a file on the host machine. This would be the preferable solution, but I may have access to memory. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
