I have an application which requires screen printing of several Tektronic XN11 graphic terminals using a Tektronic graphics printer. The printing is accomplished via a Centronic parallel connection between terminal and printer. In an effort to reduce the number of printers needed I am attempting to use a multi-port Centronic printer sharing device and have experienced a problem finding a usable sharing device. The Tektronic printer sends a serial status message over the Centronic pin 12 (paper out) control line to the terminal during every print. Most manufactures of sharing devices do not support this control line and ground pin 12 which prevents the message reaching the terminal. Does anyone know of a Centronic printer sharing device which does not poll ports but selects on demand which also supports pin 12 (paper out) as a control line? (Note: Boxes with 25 pin PC type connectors are ok.) Thanks, Mike Rafferty Jet Propulsion Lab. rafferty@mars.nasa.jpl.gov
