Can anyone provide some information on a Hewlett-Packard 2631G printer? This is a dot-matrix printer, with a 24-pin Centronics-style connector on it, plus a few dip switches on the back. I can get it to do a self-test, but I have no other information about this machine. Is this a printer that only likes to work with H/P hardware, or is there a possibility of using it on a PC? Any information will be greatly appreciated! Please reply via mail... Thank you in advance! re: > Can anyone provide some information on a Hewlett-Packard 2631G printer? The user/reference/service manuals may still be available. Let us know if you get serious about it, and I'll look up the part numbers (which I can't do right now from home). It speaks a pre-historic version of the "PCL" laanguage used on LaserJets. > ... with a 24-pin Centronics-style connector on it, Not Centronics, HP-IB (i.e. IEEE-488). > Is this a printer that only likes to work with H/P hardware, or is there > a possibility of using it on a PC? With one of any number of IEEE-488 (aka GP-IB) cards, you might get it working as an LPT. Pretend that it is a ThinkJet or QuietJet. > Please reply via mail... Did that too.
