[comp.periphs.printers] Questions about Citizen GSX140

pegram@griffin.uvm.edu (Robert B. Pegram) (08/23/90)

Hi, I just got the GSX 140 and need some answers from people who know
more about this printer.

	1) It is currently having problems finding "home", i.e. it
will print things offset to one side or another, this happens
intermittently, but makes me lose part of a line from trying
to print too far to the left. It corrects itself after doing
that once, or tells me to do so with the error message about not
finding home. Is this a major problem? Should I return it, or
is it simple to fix, like a bent sensor or something?

	2) What ram chip is needed to expand the memory by another 32K?
I have a good guess but would really like to know. If this
machine is like the current Panasonic printers, the chip is $12,
not the $60 asked for by the manufacurer.

3)Assuming I have good answers to the above, my last question
is: How do you open the %#^& thing??? To put in the buffer
	ram of course.

Please email your help or request for any info I get, since I don't
read this newsgroup regularly. I will post or email what I get to
other requesters (depending on the size of the response).

Thanks in advance,

	Bob Pegram
