A friend of mine got a Panasonic KX-P1180 from his brother without a manual (interesting how many printer pirates there are out there (-:). We needed to figure out which DIP switch controlled the 8th bit to the printer so we played with them till we found out which one, but we'd like to know the meanings of all the DIP switches. I'm also curious as to the ribbon in this printer. It's tiny, which to me says it's not gonna last long, but there's a little diagram on the cartridge that says to press a little thing on it when the ribbon gets too light - apparently this releases a reserve of ink? If so, that's a neat idea. Any help on this printer (including info on compatibility) will be appreciated now. He intends to write for a manual when he can get an address. Anyone have a good address to use? Andy art100@psuvm.psu.edu
