I apologize for asking this question, as I recall it has been discussed in the past. But I didn't have a DeskJet at the time, so: could someone please let me know what the consensus answer was for re-inking of DeskJet cartridges? (i.e. general procedure and best type of ink) (alternately, is this group archived somewhere?) ________________________________________________________________________ Raymond W. I thought Deskjet owners might be interested to know that Lyben Computer Systems (313-649-4500) stocks "Ink Refills for HP Deskjet Cartridges", made by Graphic Utilities. It looks like a plastic accordion-style squeeze bottle. They cost $8.95 for a single refill (Black, LCS# 3571), $12.95 for a 2-pack (#3572); and $15.95 for a 2-pack refill in either red, green, or blue (3573,-5,-4). Of course, the new smear-less ink cartridges from HP are due out in Nov. I have one, and it's the same part number, but has "New Ink" highlighted in a sunburst circle on the front.

You SHOULD get the new ink, I purchased some from our Bookstore and put a page of text in the sink, and it didn't run, I must tell you I was shocked. Ok, it ran a bit, but wet fingers and condensed water on the outside of your Coke can do no cause the ink to run. I don't know what the base for this new ink is but whatever HP did is was impressive, this stuff has brough new life into my DeskJet, look into it. ..Mike Figueroa.......................... _______________________ . 6600phnx@ucsbuxa.ucsb.edu (Internet) . / // / . @ucsbuxa.bitnet (Bitnet) . /---- // / __ ......................................... / // / / "Vila weights 73 kilos . . ." / ------ ------
