Our department needs to buy a laser printer to connect to our local Sun network. I would like to get one that we can hang on our Ethernet instead of having a "slow" 9600/19200 line from a server or workstation. (I guess we can crank the line speed up to 38400 off a workstation, but then that particular workstation might be a bit overloaded [3/50,3/60] :-) We are nearing that part of our budget year when they start clamping down on purchases, so we need to write a requisition by this friday. Anyone with information about available products, prices, how to do it, what additional software (other than transcript, lpr, lpq, lpc, etc), * PLEASE * let me know what is available. We don't want to buy "just another printer just-like-the-one-that-other-department-bought" because we didn't know about this wonderful, cost-efective, printer from so-n-so. Send E-Mail, or post if your mailer can't find me. We'd like postscript and I'd guess the ethernet port may only exist in high-end printers, but I'm hoping that some of the lower-end models have it. If there's interest, I'll summarize. Remember, I need the info ASAP, so don't wait till you have time to look it up, to get the 100% right info. I'll take whatever you can point me to, sales contacts, 1-800 phone numbers for HP, DataProducts, NEC, etc..., Name brands, Model numbers... advTHANKSance! -Carl -- Carl A Baltrunas 408/922-6206|SMTP:carl@doctor.TYMNET.COM,carl@tymix.tymnet.com BT Tymnet (Network Services) |UUCP: ...!{ames,pyramid}!oliveb!tymix!doctor!carl PO Box 49019, MS/C41 |PDP-10 support: 36-bits forever! well, awhile!
