[comp.periphs.printers] Citizen GSX-140 RAM chip

don@brahms.udel.edu (Donald R Lloyd) (12/04/90)

Anybody know what type of chip is used by this printer as the upgrade to
the buffer? Most places want ~$60 for it, but I have a feeling it's really
only about a $10 32K SRAM chip. While I'm at it, where exactly does it go?
I don't plan on popping the case open till I've got the chip in my hands...

Please reply via mail as I don't read this group too regularly.
	Thanks!

1 answer, Radio Shack sells the same printer, and the '91 computer
catalog says that you can order its 32k chip for ~$30.

I would like to know the chip type though, so I could order it for the
$10-$20 its worth wholesale. I would also welcome instructions on
opening the case for the installation - failed miserably on my dry run
(incurably curious). Please post the info or email it to me (too) at:
