Greetings to the group! I recently obtained a used Siemens model PT89 wide-carriage printer without any sort of manual or documentation. It has a parallel input port and is tractor/friction paper feed. Best as I can tell from looking at it, this is an ink-jet printer. Does anyone out there have any information on this printer or know of any source for a manual and ink cartridges? This unit is in fairly good condition and the carriage initializes when powered on. It also indicates paper out and beeps if this condition is true, so the print engine appears to be functioning to some degree. I hope to be able to get it working and make it a useful addition to my meager computer equipment. I would also like to drive it with an alphanumeric terminal and need to locate or build a serial to parallel interface. Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Greetings to the group! I recently obtained a used Siemens model PT89 wide-carriage printer without any sort of manual or documentation. It has a parallel input port and is tractor/friction paper feed. There is a configuration dip-switch inside the unit underneath the print head assembly. Best as I can tell from looking at it, this is an ink-jet printer. The unit is in fairly good condition and the print head initializes when powered on. It also indicates paper out and beeps if this condition is true, so the print engine appears to be functioning to some degree. I hope to be able to get it working and make it a useful addition to my meager computer equipment. Does anyone out there have any information on this printer or know of any source for a manual or ink cartridges? Any sort of information about the dip-switch settings would be extremely helpful. I would also like to drive it with an alphanumeric terminal and need to locate or build a serial to parallel interface. Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated!
