This was posted about a week ago to net.micro.atari with only one response that indicated a similar problem exists with the APPLE version. I am reposting to net.micro to see if anyone else has experienced this problem and if anyone has a solution. I have seen two legally purchased copies of Castle Wolfenstein, by MUSE Software, go "haywire" after a couple of hours of play. Does anyone else on the net have any experience with this adventure type game?? and have you also seen it render itself useless after a few hours of play?? If you mail responses to me, I will summarize and post to the net. Thanks. Jim Van Ornum, houxu!jhv

#R:houxu:-15100:uiucdcs:10400075:000:407 uiucdcs!brewer Jul 10 21:53:00 1983 I have seen this happen. Wolfenstein uses a binary file called something like "CASTLE" to store the current layout of the castle. There is a file called "BACKUP" that can take the place of "CASTLE" should it get trashed. just RENAME CASTLE,BLAH <CR> RENAME BACKUp\P,CASTLE <CR> RENAME BLAH,BACKUP <CR> you do have to get to MUSE DOS to do this, but CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC you.
