Help! A friend just got a job with a non-profit organization that's using some rather old equipment, including a Star SG-15 dot-matrix printer. Apparently, the last time it was moved, someone set all twelve of the dip switches to the on position. It no longer works. They have no manual. The only person there who has used the thing doesn't know how it was set, other than he knows that "4 or 5" of the switches were not in the on position. I spent quite a while looking at the thing and determined that there was no one switch that would make it work, and that the software they were using did expect it to be a Star SG-15, so it's not trying to emulate something else. There is no dip switch information stamped on the machine anywhere. Anyway, does anyone have a manual for this beast? Or some idea of what the default configuration might be? There are two groups of switches, one of 8 and the other of 4.... thanks, -david preston@lll-crg.llnl.gov [the United States has] "no opinion on your border dispute with Kuwait" - U.S. Ambassador April Glaspie, July, 1990 D.
