Sorry to send this to everybody but I don't have the right address... Users here have complained of the lack of a BREAK function with Data Capture 4.0 on the Apple II and so far no sure fix has been reported. These have been suggested but I don't know if they work reliably: 1) Try <CTRL-C> while holding down the <REPEAT> key. 2) Try hitting <ESC> <ESC> <ESC> rapidly, but be prepared to be popped out of Data Capture. If so, do <GOTO 1000> <RETURN> to get back, and you might no longer be connected to UNIX. A better solution that costs 150 dollars might be a worthwhile investment in the long run. SOFTERM is an excellent program by Softronics in Memphis, Tennessee. It works on a vanilla Apple II but also supports many 80-column cards, modems and printer cards. It emulates a large number of terminals. With the Videx Videoterm and Keyboard Enhancer, SOFTERM emulates a Televideo 925 on UINX very nicely. It saves files on the Apple as standard DOS 3.3 text files. If you use Apple Pascal you might try DataLink by Link Systems in California. It is somewhat more versatile than Data Capture but you only get the p-code so you can't modify the program. I highly recommend another terminal package: "ASCII Express 'The Professional'" by Mark Robbins and Bill Blue, from Southwe3stern Data Systems. Costs around $100, requires 16k card, but otherwise adapts to almost any Apple configuration imaginable. Has every feature I wanted, plus some that I had not thought of.
