[comp.periphs.printers] HELP: Problem with a HP 7310A Graphics Printer

Hello,
Is anyone reading this familiar with the HP-7310A Graphics Printer?
When I turn the printer on, it repeatedly feeds out about 6" of paper,
cuts it, feeds out another 6" of paper, cuts it, etc. and won't print
anything or run the dianostic test (confidence test). It was working
fine until I removed and replaced the cover and passed the confidence test
with no problem. One other thing; I accidentally tore the paper near the
roll and to remove the paper remaining in the printer, I pulled it out
by hand (don't know if this did any damage or not). BTW, does anyone
know if HP or anyone else still services these? (made in 1981).
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions! :-)

(note: this model uses the HP-IB for the interface)
