I'm considering the purchase of a low-end laser printer or ink-jet printer.
Most of my work is text but there will be some desk-top publishing in the
future. I have looked through Computer Shopper magazine and have found three
printers that are in my price range (cheap). The printers are:
Cannon BJ10E Bubble Jet - cheapest, slowest, highest dpi (360x360) For some
reason, I would feel better about this one if it weighed 10lb more. :-)
Is this thing reliable?
Okidata Oki Laser 400 - Most expensive of the three. PC Mag. editor's choice
for low cost laser printers. But is it any better than an ink jet?
HP Deskjet 500 - A reviewer in an old Computer Shopper liked it. I don't
remember why. If I get this thing, am I going to wish it was a laser
printer later?
The problem is that I don't know squat about any of these printers and Computer
Shopper advertisements are pretty slim on useful information. If anyone could
give me information on any of these printers, I would greatly appreciate it.
Also, if there are any printers comparable to the ones above that I should
consider, I would like to hear about them.
Please respond by e-mail. If I get a good response, I'll summarize it here.
Thanks,
