I have a hp Deskjet 500 with a RAM cartridge, and have been enjoying using a variety of soft fonts. One problem, though: All the Laserjet fonst conversion packages I've tried were written for DJ/DJ+ and simply delete information for kerning or negative side bearings on proportionally spaced fonts. Even our departmental copy of HP Type Director does this. I gather the DJ500 has added the ability to kern fonts. Does anyone have the information on how this is expressed in the font? It does not appear to be done just by regarding the spacing fields as signed chars. Thanks, Ross -- Ross A.
